Sophisticated Pup is seeking motivated sales people for a kiosk sales position on Michigan Ave. in the heart of Downtown Chicago at the Shops at Northbridge (Nordstrom Building, 550 N. Michigan Ave.). Sophisticated Pup is a Chicago-based designer of high-end pet apparel, collars, leashes, toys and dog beds.  This position is great for someone who loves to sell, loves dogs, and loves to deal with people.  The Shops at Northbridge is a dog-friendly shopping center and we are excited to be able to offer our products for the pups that visit the mall with their owners.

Job requirements:

• Must love dogs and have a true appreciation for treating dogs like a member of the family.
• High school diploma required.  
• Sales experience preferred.  
• $10/hour with the possibility for bonuses.
• Must be punctual, courteous, and outgoing.

OMG! Where have we been!

Sooo.... we admit... we have been a little behind on our blog postings!  We are so active on Facebook and Twitter that we often forget to blog!  So much has happened for Sophisticated Pup over the last year, it's hard to even be able to begin to tell you all about the excitement we have experienced and will be experiencing in the coming months.  We are very excited to attending the Milwaukee Pug Fest again this year!  That will be this next Sunday, May 19th.  Then we will be running a Fab.com Europe sale the week of May 23-30.  After that we will be exhibiting at the Andersonville Midsommerfest on June 8 & 9 and after that we will be in Las Vegas exhibiting SuperZoo in mid July!  So much excitement, so much fun stuff.  We hope to be better and keeping you all informed!

My Liver Disease

Hi Everyone, it's Penny here. I have been a little too busy to blog lately. I had a bad weekend last weekend, I got really sick with a bad bout of my liver disease problems. My mom and dad took me to the vet this week twice! I don't like to go to the vet, but my mom says I have to because the vet will make me feel better! They did an ultrasound on my belly and are suspecting that I have a liver shunt again, ugh! I have to take lots of medicine now, which is kind of yucky. I will be going back to the vet in a few weeks to have my liver enzymes checked again. The vet will tell us then what he suggests for making me the healthiest at that time!

One good thing though is that mom has been making me all sorts of special foods! I got to eat cod fillet twice this week and tonight I got to have macaroni with tofu cooked in chicken broth with garlic! She reads a book that tells her all about the best natural foods that will help heal my liver. Okay, I better get back to watching animal planet, talk to you soon!

New Products & Upcoming Shows for SP

Penny here again, I know, two blog posts in 1 day~ what?! We are in the process of creating our newest collection! It is SOOOO exciting! Mom is letting me have the final say on everything, which is pretty cool because she would never produce a line that I didn't want to wear! Anyways, we are busy, busy, busy over here sources our fabrics, which can be a bigger job than some people might realize! We have to make sure that we pick just the combinations! We hope to have our newest line ready for launching in early September! Plenty of time for you early Christmas shoppers! We will be at a couple of shows this fall showcasing our newest goods, if you want to see them/try them on for size before purchasing! Here is where we will be so far:

WOW! Are we behind!

It has been quite some time since we have blogged... we get so bogged down with our Facebook and Twitter pages, that we sometimes forget about this blog!

Well, since we just redesigned our website, we are going to try to be better about blogging! We are moving full steam ahead creating our newest collections. We just released our collars with flowers, which are super cute! You'll have to check them out.

We are so happy it's summer, but summer means starting to think about our holiday collections! Big things are in store for us, we hope you visit us often.

Christmas, Christmas, and holiday shows!

Soo... I had a very merry Christmas with my family and was lucky enough to get lots of great stuff from Santa! I got a new blue hippo toy, that is awesome, and several others! My mom had a good Christmas too. We had a good time visiting everyone back in Indianapolis.

During the month of December, we were in several shows! We did the Bucktown Holiday Art Show, we had a really good time and got to meet lots of new people! We also did the Jingle.Mingle.Shop event that was held at Germania Place at North and Clark in Chicago, it was fun too.

We are stoked to be exhibiting at the Bucktown Holiday Art Show this season. It is the largest holiday art show in Chicago and takes place December 6th and 7th at the Holstein Park Fieldhouse at 2200 N. Oakley in the Bucktown neighborhood. Over 100 artists will be participating in the 10th year of this show. We will be there with tons of great doggie gear, ready to fill the stockings of pups citywide! As our special guest, you can get free admission to the show! I have included our postcard for you to download and come out and see us! Louisville Pet Expo

We exhibited at the Louisville Pet Expo on September 27 & 28. We had a good time, and met a lot of our Southern doggie friends. We also found out about many other Pet Expos that we look forward to exhibiting at in the coming year. One BIG Bummer of the weekend was that I got VERY SICK and had to see the emergency vet. My mom rushed me to the Jefferson Animal Hospital, I was having a lot of stomach and bladder problems. My mom and grandparents were with me and I as SO SCARED! I was shaking the whole time we were at the vet. They gave me a bunch of medicine. My mom had to leave the Expo a little early with me on Sunday so that we could get back to Chicago. My mom rushed me to the emergency vet once we were home because I was still just sooo sick. They gave me some new medicine and I started to feel a little better within a few days. I feel GREAT now! I am going to include a picture of my mom and I at our our booth at the Louisville Pet Expo (this was taken BEFORE I got sick!)

Doggy Happy Hours a Success!

We had a great time over the summer at the Doggy Happy Hours at Joe's Bar on Weed St! My mom has been teaching a lot of art lately, so we haven't been able to blog as much as we would have liked! We had lots of friends come out to see us, and made many new friends! My mom introduced the newest line of doggy t-shirts at the happy hours, and they are just now finally available on our website! I love them and wear mine all the time!
